It seems like only yesterday that soothsayer bloggers like Big Men On Content and Ask Johnny! were predicting that Microsoft's purchase of FAST might mean no more FAST for EMC. But that was before the EMC/Microsoft love fest. Just a little over a year later, guess who was a presenter at fastForward09? None other than EMC Consulting (they also won an award). They presented a demo of Microsoft Surface; it looks pretty cool on this YouTube video. (See for yourself below). If you paid attention to the business press last week, you couldn't have missed EMC's Joe Tucci sitting side by side with Microsoft's Steve Ballmer declaring their love for each other. New York's Plaza hotel is a choice setting for romance, and Tucci and Ballmer exchanged vows before a few dozen specially invited CIOs. There was plenty of press around to witness the love as well.

"It isn't peanut butter," I said.
"Either are ice cream, dog treats, Cliff Bars, or Asian Marinated Flank Steak," he said.
"Your point?" I asked.
"They're all on the recall list," he said.
I got an instant stomach ache. Maybe you just got one too.
